Welcome to yet another packed auction of worldwide material. We have secured some marvellous items from our travels throughout the UK. Highlights include. CHINA a most remarkable collection of pre 1930’s postage stamps collected by a British teacher whilst working in Shanghai during 1920-30’s. This lady eventually brought the collection back to Durham during the 1930’s. They had laid untouched in the family home for over 80 years. There are some fine mint stamps here including 1912.

It’s that time of year again, what’s historically known as the start of the philatelic season. September is usually packed with auctions in London, our wonderful national stamp exhibition Stampex held at the British Design Centre in London and a host of other events.
Here at Philangles we are working closely with our clients to bring you more. For the first time (in many years!) we will have a booth at Stampex and are hoping to meet many avid collectors. We have also committed ourselves to taking a stand at Prague 2018 International Stamp Show.

Welcome to Auction 349 – 24 July 2017 I write this note as glorious weather is upon us which gives a great excuse to take our catalogue out into the garden along with a cool drink! This sale was prepared after Chris and I undertook taking a stand at Finlandia 2017. This knocked a week out of one of our lotting cycles giving us only enough time to get all the best bits lotted for Sale 349.

We are attending more stamp shows meeting clients and seeing more material. During June we will be found at Swinpex and Stafford Shows which have become regular points of contact for us. We also have regional visits to Glasgow and Sussex to value important collections during June. To say we are busy would be an understatement.
